Price Upon Request
A finely crafted French violin bearing an interior label reading “GAND, Luthier de la Musique du Roi et du Conservatoire de Musique, Rue Croix des Petits Champs, N°24, Paris, 1844.”
The instrument features a warm reddish-brown varnish, a finely grained spruce top, a strongly figured two-piece maple back, flamed ribs and neck, and an elegant classical French character. The back displays attractive horizontal flame, while the neck and scroll show lively figure that complements the richer body varnish.
