A handsome cello bearing a label reading “Lutherie Artistique — M. Couturieux,” with a handwritten date that appears to read 1907. The instrument features a warm reddish-brown varnish with amber highlights, attractive wood grain, and graceful traditional proportions. Its polished finish reveals subtle variations in color across the body, giving the cello a distinctive visual character. The back displays appealing wood grain beneath a rich, glossy varnish, complemented by well-defined edges and elegant curves. The cello is presented with an ebony-colored fingerboard, dark fittings, and a traditional carved scroll. The maker, date, origin, and attribution have not been independently authenticated.
